TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:

 

Practice Round may be scheduled beginning July 16. Weekdays after 9am; Friday, Saturday, Sunday after 12pm (Those playing a practice round on Sunday and planning to attend the Open House from 3:30 to 5:00, advise the golf shop and they will try to accommodate.)

Monday, July 25

Round one, 18 holes of stroke play (tee times).

 

Tuesday, July 26 - 8:30 Shotgun

Final round. 18 holes of stroke play (shotgun). Awards luncheon immediately following round.

Special Travel Note for GPS users: If you are traveling west on 211 from Pinehurst to go to club, if the turn suggested by your GPS does NOT have a manned gate - do not turn there.

Proceed west through the traffic light and the gate will be shortly on the left.

ELIGIBILITY:

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who has reached her 16th birthday by July 25, 2016, has a current, verifiable USGA Handicap Index® . Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event, by the committee or the host club. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. All players must conform to the “USGA Rules of Amateur Status” as specified in “The Rules of Golf”. Field Size=96 players.

 

 

ENTRIES AND ALTERNATES:

All players must complete an official entry form.  Alternates are ranked by handicap index.  Applicants will be posted with status on www.MooreCountyWomensAmateur.com. The entry fee must be paid by each player and must accompany application. Only one entry fee per check. Make check payable to Friend to Friend. REFUND POLICY:

Entry fee refund policy schedule: Open Date to Close Date: Full refund minus donations to Friend to Friend. No refund after July 15, 2016 at 5pm. Alternates not accepted for play will receive a refund of her entry fee. Any addition donation goes to Friend to Friend.

 

FORMAT:

Two divisions; Championship and Friendship divisions played from different tees. Player chooses her division for competition. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play.  A tie for over-all champion in both divisions is determined by an on-course playoff. All other ties will be broken by score card playoff in accordance with USGA recommended procedures.

 

COURSE FEES; GOLF CARTS; CADDIES:

Daily cart and range fees are included in the entry fee. Cart rental is mandatory for practice rounds. Golf cart use is mandatory during championship rounds. Caddies are not allowed.

 

PRIZES:

The trophy is awarded to the over-all champion and merchandise certificates are awarded to flight winners.

The Friendship Tournament winner also receives a trophy.

The permanent trophy is engraved with the champion's name. This trophy is housed in the Givens Library throughout the year in the Village of Pinehurst.
